Food Sharing Project
The Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation is the lead agency for student nutrition programs in South East Ontario.
About The Program
- Supports schools in Limestong District School Board, Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, Conseil des Ecoles Publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario, and Conseil des Ecoles Catholiques du Centre-Est.
- Is supported by local partners: United Way, Community Foundation, Chinese Canadian Association of Kingston, Chez Piggy and Pan Chancho restaurants.
- Works with Public Health to ensure that the safe food handling standards are met.
- Operates as a food hub, where food for all student nutrition programs is ordered centrally and delivered to schools on a weekly basis.
